Reflective Teaching Guide (RTG)
At Northwestern University, I serve as a Reflective Teaching Guide at the SEARLE Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching. As a Reflective Teaching Guide, I support graduate students in cultivating effective, inclusive, and reflective teaching practices. Through this role, I facilitate peer-led discussion sections that deepen engagement with pedagogical theory and guide the development of teaching artifacts tailored to participants’ disciplines. I Lead interdisciplinary discussion groups on topics such as authentic assessment and student-centred learning. Also, I provide timely, constructive feedback on teaching artifacts and course materials. I Collaborate with faculty and peers to co-design and facilitate reflective teaching seminars and cultivate classroom leadership skills and foster a community of practice among emerging educators. This role has strengthened my ability to lead with empathy and clarity, offer supportive critique, and contribute to institutional cultures of inclusive, reflective teaching. It also reflects my broader commitment to mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and educational equity—values I carry into every space I engage, from academia to global advocacy.
Assistant Chair, Public Affairs Residential College
As Assistant Chair of a Northwestern residential college, I serve in a dual leadership and advisory role, supporting both student development and academic community-building. Appointed by the Office of Residential and Academic Engagement and the Faculty Chair, I work closely with student executive boards, faculty, and residential staff to cultivate an inclusive, vibrant, and intellectually engaged college environment. In this role, I advise the college’s student executive board, offering guidance on event planning, leadership development, and financial management. I support the Faculty Chair in designing and executing a range of community programming, including academic, social, and cultural events that enrich the residential experience. I maintain weekly office hours and remain actively present at college functions, shared meals, and outings to foster meaningful engagement with students. My administrative responsibilities include managing event reporting, reconciling budgets, and coordinating with relevant university departments. I also collaborate closely with the Residential Experience team to support student well-being and help strengthen a sense of belonging within the college community. This position has sharpened my skills in mentorship, program coordination, and student-centered leadership—skills I carry into every collaborative and service-oriented space I contribute to.
